Propuestas de investigación y uso de experiencias y saberes comunitarios en el aula indígena intercultural de Oaxaca Description An account of the resource La educación escolar de los indios en México se ha desarrollado en las últimas décadas en el ámbito de tres grandes modelos: la educación tradicional castellanizadora, impulsada desde distintas perspectivas (asimilacionista, aculturativa, integracionista, etcétera) por los gobiernos postrevolucionarios con la intención de consolidar culturalmente a la Nación a costa de la desaparición de las culturas indias y sus lenguas, y que fue ampliamente cuestionada en la década de los setentas por profesionistas indígenas; como contraparte se diseñó y propuso la educación bilingüe-bicultural. Este modelo fue adoptado por el Estado mexicano y no tardaría en mostrar sus deficiencias: para algunos, se trataba de una nueva cara del modelo aculturador, etnocida, que buscaba eficientar su obra mediante el uso de la lengua materna en el aula; para otros, su debilidad estaba en la falta de apoyos del Estado mexicano para darle forma, o bien se trataba de un problema de contenidos, pues los esfuerzos del magisterio indígena se orientaban a traducir los materiales didácticos elaborados para todos los mexicanos, sin considerar especificidades culturales. Incluso, se llegó a afirmar que su fracaso se debía en buena medida a la falta de materiales didácticos adecuados, así como de planes y programas de estudio que fundamentaran una propuesta desde el lado indígena; también se culpó a la estructura burocrática de concebir indios genéricos y ser incapaz de reconocer diferencias por ejemplo entre un hablante de mixe y uno de chatino, y como consecuencia enviar a buena parte de estos maestros a comunidades donde no hablaban ni su variante dialectal ni su lengua, suponiendo que por el hecho de ser indios se podrían entender. Lo cierto es que el sistema bilingüe-bicultural ha fracasado. Ante ello, quienes previeron su fracaso han estado buscando contactos y alternativas desde el Estado o más recientemente desde la sociedad civil y están dando el matiz mexicano a la educación intercultural que se impulsa en distintas partes del mundo. En Oaxaca, se gesta un modelo específico en educación formal que es la educación comunitaria, que claramente se presenta como la manera de pensar la interculturalidad desde esta parte del sur.
